On 10 Januari 1954 a de Havilland DH-106 Comet 1 takes-off from Rome for a flight to London. But 20 minutes in to the flight the fuselage disintegrates and the aircraft crashes in to the sea. All 29 passengers and 6 crew died in this event with a total of 35 dead.
